Default My99 engine hesitation!

I have just bought a MY99 with only 41,000 miles. I have noticed a slight hesitation around 2500 - 2750 rpm even when engine is warm. It happens even if only applying a small amount of throttle. The engine feels like it struggling for fuel just for a brief moment. I know this is just before the turbo comes in. It seems to smoothen out when the turbo kicks in! Is this normal?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Possibly get some new Subaru coil leads, or if you know anyone with a similar year car, then swop the leads over for a trial first?

I had exactly the same problem on my MY99 I have put in a new KN panel filter, thrown the standard one in the bin! It seems to have cured the problem. Good luck.

If it's revs related, then i doubt it's MAF or solenoid.

IMHO it's leads or plugs.

I had this problem at exactly the same rev range in my 00MY It turned out to be a broken lambda sensor which i replaced with a non genuine part from a certain auction site at the huge cost of £15
