my one on my 93 wrx import is like a plastic box type thing.... would his one be less resictive and if so where can you et it from ?

any help would be great ?

 

the plastic one on yours is the resonator box the one on his normally come with the cone filter kit

the resonator box doesnt really have much affect on performance. i have a 93 import and also have the same setup as the one in that pic with the front mount intercooler and k&n filter. i have a friend who works for pertek who made me a metal replacement with the vacume hose housing on it for the 2 pipes.

if you still have the resonator box it wont change a great deal its just basically a swirl pool affect for the 2 pipes going in. if you remove the box and have a straight pipe then you get a slightly better air flow but not much.

me and the guy in the pic have got front mount intercoolers so after fitting them the pipes run under the resonator box and its difficult to shut the bonnet without replacing it with a pipe.

ok thanks guys, i got to get a new air filter any way (last owner fitted a crappy air filter (fake hks) so im going to go for that apexi one
