Default upgraded ecu

i have a 96 uk spec turbo 2000, i used to have an apexi ecu + front mount. i got stopped by the police and they said it wasnt standard so i was driving without insurance.. anyway to cut a long story short i have now gone back to standard...and i was wondering if the modified plugin ecu's you can buy are any good? my standard ecu has a spare socket for the modified chip. this way you wont be able to see the modification! any advise welcome.. i still have apexi ecu and front mount if anyone is interested in buying them.

PolarPerformance may be your best bet.

Plenty of people have and are using these mod chips.

I second that.

Scott at Polar Performance has just sent me a chip which is going on a week on Friday.

I have emailed him countless times asking various questions and his response and service has been first class.

Very nice fella indeed.

i have had a look at polarperformance website and installing the chip looks quite easy, as my ecu board already has the socket for it.. just wondering what the performance off these chips are like... but it look like they have a good report. since i have took the apexi and front mount off my car it seems to be using a lot more fuel.. i only get 190 miles out of 45 quid!! dont know if its because i still have the high presure fuel pump and fuel regulator fitted? when i drive the car fast you get a smell of petrol from the engine. dont know if its running rich.

Default Front mount and ECU for sale?

What sort of cash are you thinking of for the front mount and ECU? I take it the price will include pipes and brackets etc.
