Question removing downpipe on a classic

Already undone two bolts on the heatshield but there is another under the intercooler. How many bolts do i need to remove to lift the intercooler to get at the other bolt on the heatshield?

cheers for any help

hi i have just done one myself. not the best front pipes to change.

there should be 3 bolts on heatshield. you shouldnt have to undo the intercooler to get to the one down the side "i didnt". then there are 4 nuts to undo to get the cat off.have to take the cat off to get the front pipe going to the turbo as there is a bolt that you wont get to without removing the cat.

hope that helps you

so much easier to take the intercooler off, only a few bolts and clips, to have space to undo the bolts holding the downpipe. chances are they are very tight. not a hard job really but saves time and knuckle skin trying to work around parts.
