Question Wheelspin and AWD..?

Just got back from a day out at a NT park and at the insistence of a parking Marshal tried to park on a steepish grass verge only for the front lip to ground out..!

Not a problem and no damage as speed was very low. In fact I only realised because the front wheels were slipping on the damp grass, but it made me think what were the rears doing, as they were on tarmac..?

So theoretically speaking, what would happen in this instance if I had given it some welly (with front wheels on a very slippery surface, the rears on solid ground and an immovable object in front). Would the fronts just spin and the rears not..?

05 WRX, but would a DCCD-A car react the same..?

A little puzzled..

Are we talking under braking conditions?

When my scoob had the hand brake on and one side in the air, while in gear, I can still turn the front wheel. Probably down to the viscous coupling.

No mate, literally pulling away from standstill.

Just wondered if the fronts would just spin up without the rears dong anything, IYSWIM..?
