ive fitted a monster hybrid. If its an early classic then you will need to cut the pipe from the throttle body to the pipe that runs at the front of the engine. Clearance is very tight and some people use a smaller battery as well.
I made a right hash of mine so I have got loads of silicon hoses now!

cheers guys, its a GT spec IC i have by the way
I printed off a fitting guide from projects which was for an Autobahn88 front mount, principles are the same and helps when taking the car apart but is no real help with the problem I have and the instructions supplied with the IC are totally useless.
its the IC end I am having trouble with, its almost like the IC itself sits too high meaning the pipework on the righthand side (as you face the front of the car) wont line up correctly where it joins the IC
have not really even looked at the left side yet, kinda ran out of light and patience last night.

you will have to adjust the body work so that the pipe lines up, i used a large hammer on mine and tweeked untill it all lined up, fits fine now!
If you push the inner arch in a bit and flaten all around the towing eye, it might be enough, if not you will need to bend where the pipe is trying to sit

what I did with mine, was not have the intercooler flush up against the bumper bar where it mounts. I basically used a roofer bolt type thing that has a cross head on the top, put that through the holes in the bumper bar, then put quite a few nuts on the thread on the underneath of the bar and then connected the ic to the bolts.

Yes its exhaust wrap... I got aload of it when doing the rebuild, was gonna wrap headers and up-pipe, but decided against it as didn't want them cracking, so just used some of it up on the fmic pipe work...

Fitting the Hybrid should be straight forward as they are generally a very good fit.
The trick is gettting the pipe from the intercooler on the passenger side that runs up the plastic cam gear chest sitting in the right position. The pipe from there, alongside the battery and screen wash bottle to the throttlebody will then fit like a glove.
There are several things you can do to make the job easier.
If running one fan you could mount it centrally to give plenty clearance to the vertical pipe.
If running two fans you can trim the fan cowling to help get the vertical pipe in the best position.
If you want to cheat and cut corners you can cut the pipe to the throttlebody, somewhere between the battery and behind the screen wash bottle and put in a joiner. This allows you to articulate the pipe to suit your particular installation.

Running with one fan looks like a very neat solution. I had to get the angle grinder out for the fan cowling and a bit of the fan blades on my FMIC.

I wrap everything in DEI exhaust wrap and then put on a sleve as the wrap absorbs moisture and does not look nice.
The sleves are available in various diameters and there is also a velcro sleve that opens up.
As with the DEI wrap, they are available from Nimbus Motorsport.
