Wanting to get the car mapped and a few bits dont to her.

Has anyone used Roger Clarke Motorsport b4?

Also think of using the scoobyclinic for the map or andy forrest.

Cheers

Roger Clark Motorsport are THE best Subaru tuning company in the country, bar none!!

Certainly alot better than that shower in Chesterfield.

Scooby clinic are awesome at bodywork but I've seen some of the mechanical efforts they've produced. Lets just say that the RCM stuff is far far superior.

Matt and Olly clark will always make you feel welcome.

The quality of the work done at RCMS is pretty flawless...just look at the work done on "The Gobstopper" and on Team Ice and many other scoobs !!

PM me and I'll show you a few pics of my Bugeye underbonnet

The other plus is that they use Bob Rawle for mapping..very experienced.

The downside is that you get what you pay for so expect a chat from the bank manager...I had to go and see mine after my last visit LOL

Andy Forrest is by far the best mapper in Scotland. Can't speak for RCM but there prices are certainly not competetive with Andy.

Andy Forrests classic STI Type R is even faster than the RCM car (check out the recent TOTB) and it cost him less to create the whole car than the RCM cars WRC suspension set up alone

You get what you pay for but Andy has been tuning for years and I would say that his experience counts for a lot.

Just my experience as he has tuned my car twice now.

Roger Clarke are the best by far if you need to no something you just ask and the help will be there its one on one not just a car that is in for work

It's all about PRIDE and they have a hell of a lot of it

Alright Dave you could always use API.

Clinic and API both use Pat Herborn to map their cars who is AFAIK a well respected mapper.

I have always been sceptical about Scoobyclinic for some reason. This is my first experience of their work and they have done a trully brilliant job.

I will take some pics tomorrow but i cannot speak of them and their standard of work highly enough.

The pictures will speak for themselves.

As I said in my first post Scooby clinic are excellent at body work which you neglected to make these good people aware that the my quote you have posted was referring to.

Mechanically they have never touched my car. I have however seen some less than perfect mechanical work of theirs.

I'm not going to get into a slagging match with scooby clinic that was not my intention here. I was reflecting on my own experiences with both companies.

As other posts on here have clearly shown RCMS are absolutely top class.

I'm sure most tuning companies have their **** ups alot of tuning companies have had problems been made very public on here. In my 7 years of being on this site I have not once read a bad report about work done by Roger Clark Motorsport what does that tell you?

Kev, if you really want me to elaborate so publicly I'd gladly do so. Or I'd glady by pm the choice is yours. Please dont take this as me having a problem with SC, I don't.
I just believe that through my own experiences that RCMS are without doubt a better, more professional outfit.

I would also like to add that I have had two Andy Forrest mapping sessions now and he is without doubt one of the best mappers in the country. Squeezing 360bhp out of a heavily modded classic that at the time one of the few standard parts was a VF28.

Hi,
actually Mr. Davies the choice is in fact yours.
You could of course try calling us on 01246 590807 or 591664 to disscuss the issue that I am refereing to.

Damo, what MY are you and do you actually have a misfire, ie do you feel it? I had misfire codes all the time until I visited Bob and he ticked a couple of boxes on his laptop and its all gone...top class!
Bob's prices are excellent and he's one of a few I really really trust with my cherised beast, he's also tops for giving valued advice on possible issues/problems you have and ways of fixing them.
I had a few minor concerns with SC and Pat when I had their excellent SC450 turbo fitted, not saying dont use them but just keep an eye out.

An entirely different issue to the one being discussed on this thread and one that shouldn't be brought up here.

If you are insisting on discussing it here then so be it. I've got nothing to hide. I'd rather not though its not my style and it is more likely to compromise you more than me.

But then thats a prime example of the lack of professionalism i've been refering to and why you dont measure up to RCMS.

As I have said before I have no problem with SC and will, and infact have done so, recommend them to anyone with an impreza wanting bodywork doing.

Although some of the mechanical stuff you have produced recently has been superb and
great value for money. I still think and so do a few others judging by posts on here, that RCMS are the better company for mechanical work.

I wasn't intenting to start slagging match I was expressing my opinion, which I still stand by.

Im the biggest stickler in the world when it comes to stuff like this. So I make damn sure that I can trust the people who look after my car. I have been to scoobyclinic since I my car came out of warranty and I find their work exceptional. Even when my car proved to be nightmare with its mismatched Jap HKS exhaust they made it all work. Im there on the 31st for a service and im 100% confident in their abilities. Just my 2p

How does a request for advice regarding RCM, turn into a Scoobyclinic slagging match??

I think D Davies should remove his posts and sort it out directly with Kev. Nobody wins in ' trial by forum '

People do have their favourites and I certainly know of customers that use APi for one of our facilities and go elsewhere for others - no big deal that. Always use the tuner you are most happy with, for your particular need.

No need to elaborate; just " XXX company are best for YYY " will be enough, in my opinion.

Hi,
thanks for that David, people are free to go wherever they choose, a specialist war is no good for anyone, however I do not like Scoobyclinic being refered to as "That shower in chesterfield"

Mr Davies, it would be very unprofessional of me to openly discuss any issues on a forum, however I take it that your poke at scoobyclinic was prompted by matters out standing, matters that are for us to sort in private, like I said earlier you need to contact me on 01246 590807 or 591664

Back to the topic,if Haroldettaturbo wants to pop in for a look around and chat regarding your scoob you will be made very welcome, we are very local to you so its worth a look.

Cheers

I just knew this would be my fault somehow. I merely expressed my opinion. If I wanted to go into details I could have done but didnt. Besides Mr API if you read again correctly you'll notice I didn;t bring up any issue i had it was the apptly named Gaffer was the first to do that.

You cant even express an opinion on here these days without some muppet giving you a hard time.

My original post said that rcms were merely the better company.

I'd have recommended API but I have no experience of them.

Kev My "poke" at Scoobyclinic was absolutely nothing to do with matters outstanding.
It was purely to do with some of your **** poor workmanship i've seen lately if we're trying to put this all on me. You were the first to raise our issue!!

If the fella went to RCMS for the work i know it would be absolutely 100% bang on.
I wouldnt be as confident sending him to you thats all i'm trying to say. The original poster asked for an opinion he got mine. Its an opinion nothing more, live with it

I will however concede that my opening gambit of "that shower in chesterfield" was in hindsight a bit harsh.

Bit off the point but definately a misfire, quite a bad one as David @ API and Pat can confirm.

On this point can whole heartedly recommend API as they went out of their way to help me out even staying open till 7pm in winter with snow forecasted to get me sorted a home. Stuck to the agreed price and did the work with a smile even when they could have said "not our problem".

David, I've cured the boost problem but might have to bring it to you to cure the misfire.

My opinion.

RCM - Never been but based on the quality of work I have seen would consider them.

API - Again have never visited but have spoken with David several times, he has been nothing but helpful, knowledgable and courteous.

Andy Forrest - Had my classic mapped twice by him and would never choose anyone else for mapping. Absolutlely fantastic guy.

Scoobyclinic - In my personal experience more geared to liberating you of your cash and last time I was there very unorganised.

Have you considered Zen as well?
