Question Engine Cutting Out

Can anyone give any ideas to whats happening I have an sti 5 first of all it started hunting on tickover now as soon as you approach a junction or roundabout the engine cuts out the revs drop like a stone so you have to press the clutch brake and put your foot on the accelerator at the same time and is dangerous to say the least.

We put a new maf on 6 weeks ago don't know if we have got a problem with that but any ideas would be great.

Not sure on this one - had a similar prob on another car but nothing relevant.

However did you do an ECU reset when you changed the MAF.

The ECU 'learns' and if you change a sensor it might be giving a signal outside the parameters the ECU is expecting.

A simple reset might sort it out - more than that someone else will have to help
