Default bailey dumpvalve problem?

just put a new dv36 on, and it sounds like a whistle? checked for leaks etc, it also doesnt sounds like its dumping, but actually sucking air? really wired...

ps.what does the bolt on top do? do i tighten it, or loosen?

oh finally, not actually been for a drive either. does it need to be worn in?

Best thing to do would be drive it. Its diffucult to build boost while the engine isnt under load. Try driving and see if it dumps?

I assume youve blocked the re-circpipe off properly?

You need a twin piston dump valve on a pre 96 classic.

The DV26 is the one you need

The bolt on top? You mean the nipple for the vacuum pipe from the inlet manifold?

p.s. 988wrx - think the DV36 is twin piston its just got a trumpet on it

stupid question but the vacuum hose from the inlet manifold is fitted to that nipple? hasnt fallen off or come lose on one end has it?

If it wasnt you would get a sucking noise, it probably would whistle and the DV wouldnt work so no dumping.

Dont think this nipple is actually a screw though, I could be wrong, I think it is screwed into the DV but wont adjust anything.

alright mate? but that pipe from the inlet manifold is connected to the nipple on the dump valve. still getting a little sucking sound, if you put your finger in the trumpet, it right sucks it in.
