Which boost controller. Cheap or expensive?
Andy F has advised me to buy and fit a boost controller before I see him in september to make the most of the apexi fc when he fits it.
Im not sure which to go for. Looking on ebay the choices seem to be:
Greedy profec B spec 2 for around 180 quid.
Greedy profec E-01 for around 250 quid
Then its the apexi acvr and the HKS EVC for around 300 quid
Theres even a one going for 140 quid which seems to be 'unbranded' so to speak.
So my question is, will one of the cheaper options be fine, or does it really pay to buy the best? I can buy the best if need be......but I would rather not if the cheaper ones are fine?

My choice would be the profec. Nice, simple unit. But be careful on ebay as there are a lot of dodgy ones coming out of Malaysia. Sellers lie and say they are UK sellers when they are really in Malaysia. Mate bought a Sard regulator from a seller that was supposed to be in UK. Took 3 weeks to get to him, was sent from Malaysia and when it arrived it leaked!

I had a Blitz Spec S in my classic and it worked just fine. Did what it said on the tin....so to speak.
Blitz UK: Products > Electronics > Boost Controllers > 15058
It is now in a carrier bag in my garage.....no longer required
It's yours for £50 incl P&P

Depends on what you want.
If you want boost profiling over the rev range / in gear etc then go for the expensive ones.
But if money is tight then the car can be mapped with a £30 Dawes device, then in the future when funds allow the electronic boost controller can be added. You won't need to remap the PFC (unless you up the boost further, say in the midrange etc)
