Fitting Manual Boost Controller
Hi,
I found a site which gives instructions on fitting an MBC but i have a WRX 5 door and the engine doesn't quite look like the one pictured.
Can anyone give me a step-by-step guide (idiots speak) in fitting one? Pictures would be really, really helpful.

thanks for that, I actually manged to work it out last night with the instructions that came with the MBC.
A couple of questions though:
1) I have connected the MBC in such a way that it circumvents the boost control solenoid. Is this correct?
Connected as follows -
Pipe from actuator removed from solenoid and connected to MBC.
Pipe from turbo removed from solenoid and connected to MBC.
3rd pipe which was connected to air box resonator blocked off at the airbox.
Now nothing is connected to the boost control solenoid.
I did try connecting it in line with the pipe from the actutator to the solenoid but the result was I would get desired boost for a second and then it would drop back to stock levels. Now the solenoid is out of the loop, I get a constant desired boost level with no spiking.
2) I have adjusted the MBC to provide 12psi of boost in place of the 10psi I was getting before. Results are very noticable but is this a safe increase?
Car is -
WRX 5 door with TD04 turbo, upgraded induction filter, removed resonator box and replaced with aftermarket mod. De-cat center pipe and chrome racing backbox.
3) what is the max boost a 95 WRX wagon will take before fuel cut? I think it is about 14.8psi but was confused as a cetain ecu upgrade will take it past this to 16psi.

Thanks for the reply, glad I have it all plumbed in right. Found a walk-through on an RB5 website but the engine layout is totally different to the wrx and confused me some what, so I guessed based on my own knowledge!

Interesting, the pictures of the RB5 fitment are completely different to how mine is set up. In the pictures of the RB5 installation, there is a nipple from the actuator which runs right, next to the left hand side of the IC and straight to another nipple on the turbo. There is a 3rd pipe cut in with a t piece to this line which dissapears under the IC but couldn't make out where to from the images.
All the tubing from mine ran left (as if looking at the car from the front) to the boost control solenoid.
