Default olive size for new turbo

after fitting a new turbo and headers at the weekend and now only running 0.5 bar boost been told that I need to change the olive in the boost control solenoid pipe

the turbo I removed was a td05 and I fitted a vf23 with roger clark motorsport unequal length headers

would anyone know what size olive I need to restore some sort of normal boost?

its within the vent pipe from the 3port boost solenoid or in the pipe between the compressor cover and the T piece if you have a 2port.. you don't mention if the td05 is the original turbo and iti s therefore a 93~96 or if the td05 is fitted to a newer car etc etc..

The fact that it's only running half a bar makes me think it may be that your plumbing is all wrong anyway, although the restrictor/lack of it may be a part of the problem. And as Simon said there are a number of different turbos, layouts etc that make things a little more complicated.

sorry forgot to put what car I had

it's a '95 sti so the td05 was the original turbo as is the 3 port boost control solenoid

I have checked the plumbing and it appears to be correct

it is piped like so;

top pipe goes to turbo housing

middle pipe goes to actuator

bottom pipe goes to air filter pipe

I've checked and there are no leaks from the up pipe or intercooler and it's done nearly 300 miles today (80-90 all the way) with no problems except it is only running 0.5 bar of boost

I really need to get this sorted as it's doing my head in
