Leaking power steering fluid on my jdm 95 wrx. what size `O` ring is needed?
Hiya, i have a nasty leak from my power steering pump on my 1995 jdm wrx. I hear it is a common problem and is likely to be the o ring seal between the reservoir and the pump that has perished. does anyone know roughly what size this o ring seal is so i can get a few sizes from my local motor factors.

Can't remember off the top of my head, probably 15-20mm, but I'd have a look at it properly and go to Subaru if I were you. It's a simple enough matter to check, and not even messy if you do it right.
Get a big syringe and a short length of clear pipe to go with it. Once you've syringed a decent bit of PS fluid out of the filter basket in the top of the tank, remove the whole lid (and its pipe) which just lifts straight out. Now syringe the rest of the fluid out and store it somewhere.
At the bottom of the tank are a couple of bolt heads, undo these and the whole thing lifts out, revealing the washers that are used on these bolts and the O-ring around the main drain hole. 10 minutes work plus a few kitchen towels.
