Limited slip diff VS Traction Control
Hi there , currently I am part way through a build to put a 94 WRX motor mated to a 2005 UK spec gearbox which has been converted to 2wd in the back of my mid-engine kit/sports car.
As far as I can tell from the gearbox code, the box has no limited slip diff in what would be the front diff.
Long term I was looking at the possibility of either fitting a limited slip diff or fitting a traction control kit such as the one from Racelogic. Price wise there does not look to be too much in it.
What are the pro and cons of each if you were only going to buy one.

traction control cuts engine power to the wheels if it detects a wheel skiding/slipping
limited slip diff will make sure that power goes to both wheels even if one is slipping
Limited slip diff will get the most power to the ground which is much better for race use.
Think the subaru box would have a LSD if it came off a turbo car but I could be wrong. Where did you look to find that out anyway?

Thanks for the reply I understand that much about LSD's and Traction Control , but more a case of which what are the pros and cons of each past the basic level, and which would be the better buy. In my case for road use.
LSD wise far as I can tell from reading threads, and the gearbox charts elsewhere the UK turbo's only had a LSD in the rear axle diff

Not sure how well the racelogic works with 4wd anyway, its normally used on 2wd and averages the front and rear axle speed and then reduces power if the driven axle goes faster, with 4wd you need to be far more intellignet about it to be sure you actually get more power to the ground as sometimes the car will be quicker with one wheel spinning than (remmeber the centre LSD helps control front wheel spin) by killing power to all 4!
