Default blown engine

hi all just 4 laps at donnington and my sti3's bottom end sounds like a bomb has gone of in it, i was told that was a common problem, so realisticly i need to plan a rebuild, this is where i could do with all the advice i can get ,the car is used strictly for track use, so i could do with something stronger, power i intend to leave standardish ,any info appreciated

You need to have a bottom end built with steel rods, aftermarket forged
pistons instead of the Subaru HF forged one's,ACL race series big end and main bearings,
modified oil pump, baffled sump etc. Give David at API Engines a ring and he can run you through a few options

if it sounded like a bomb went off in it, It sounds like a rod has come through the side of the engine! if thats th case then you will need to source and new engine.

for standardish power i wouldnt bother with steel internals. maybe metal headgasgets.
