temp gauge up a down like a yo-yo
over the last week or so the temp gauge go's up near the top when driving around town. stays there for a few seconds then drops like a stone (2 seconds) down to normal. 5mins later same thing, then 20 mins, 2mins no pattern :confussed: other days nothing.
fan does come on
checked oil and water
no obstructions in the grill
on a normal duel carriageway run no probs at all, no power loss or anything
i was thinkin faulty temp sensor??? or witchcraft
help pls
steve

thanks for the reply
it think i may have found the problem
the water tank on the top of the engine (whats it called?) the cap seal is broken so ive lost a little water through the cap and this created an air blockage. topped it up and all seems ok now of course i only checked the water in the expansion tank doh!
i will monitor it over the weekend.
sometimes its the simple things, and generally the last thing you check that causes a problem
