Default 99 2.5L starts missing when reaching full temp.

My 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback runs fine when cold. it is a 2.5 liter DOHC engine. Once the engine reaches normal running temperature it misses bad enough to buck when under a load. It runs great when it is cold. It is not showing any engine lights or codes. We recently ran the codes and the only code that came up was the cam position sensor. The sensor was replaced and did not correct the problem but did cancel the engine light warning. Please note this engine blew a cam seal and sat for 7 months prior to being repaired. We could not find any problems with cam. We replaced the seals and installed a new timing belt, PCV and tensioner. The tensioner was not working properly (sticking). This hopefully was the reason the top left cam seal blew on the coldest day of the winter. The engine has been warmed up several times however it is still smoking oil of the crosspipe, etc. but does not leak any oil. Any suggestions?

internal piston or bore issue?? would suggest a compression./leak down test to determine fault
