decat system on sti
if i fit a decat front pipe but keep the lambda will i need to remap the car its a 99 sti lambda is before the cat section,knackered my front pipe and cant find another one at a sensible price but been offered a decat pipe just not sure about the mapping issue whats the worst case scenario?any help is appreciated

removing the cats will lead to increased gas flow and increased boost pressure,so yes it would require a remap.
not having it remapped could lead to engine failiure,which would cost more than a new standard downpipe
