Default Valve Springs

Right appears I broke me engine again. Could be a valve spring as its rather noisy on the cylinder near the turbo. Sounds like quite a high pitched rattle and definately not bottom end.
Is it possible to change a valve spring with the engine in place or would it need to come out?
Is there any other sugegstions as to what it could be??

Appears one of the cylinders is losing pressure. Passenger side nearest the bulk head.

That will be No.4 Cylinder - easier with the engine out to remove the head.

Cheers Colin C for coming to give your opinion (you was right!!)

Well, took the engine out last night, dropped the sump off, result...another big end gone on the cylinder nearest the bulkhead on the passenger side. Chap who originally built the engine said its more that likely because of the oil pump failing.

Being sent off today to be rebuilt again!
