hi ive got a 1994 wrx sti 2l turbo,when i try to start the car it struggles like mad,and refuses to start at all.ive notice theres a loud knocking noise to the engine like the pistons are going shoot rite out and it shakes like mad too,any ideas any1

what part do u recon?it started when i was driving it miss fire a few times and then the boost stopped working,i pulled up and it cut straight out refusing to start,then the aa came out said it could be the big end barrings could this be right,could it be my pistons?

Mate it's gonna need a rebuild regardless of wether it's crank, pistons or big ends. It may be viable to just buy a block out of a write off and use your existing heads. This may be cheaper than having a rebuild.

Are you sure it is not just misfiring/coil packs,plugs?

Have you had any work done on the car of recent?

missing/misfiring on one or more cyls can sound bad.

Check that the crank pulley is tight. Mine came loose and gave me the same problem as you have!
