Default where to start?

hi and thanks for reading

i've just bought a sti v6, it's the first turbo'd car i've had and to be honest dont know much about tuning them,

the car is completely standard,i am not planning any major uprades at the moment just the basics to start with,

i am thinking about bov ,induction kit, maybe a back box(the system is in good condition so not sure if it's worth the expense of upgrading it yet)

to be more precise blitz bov ,blitz cone filter or hws green mushroom type,

any suggestions / thoughts much appreciated

Looking at your pics I wouldn't have said it was completely standard, someone has saved you a job as it already has an induction kit on it.

Best to save up and get a remap, for the most gains.

would i not be better doing some minor upgrades before i remap it,

and a concern about the car is the boost,it sits at 0.6psi apparently,
from what i've read this is low.

Car does have to be standard for SVA but normally goodies are taken off and then put back on again.

Regarding the boost this is probably 0.6 Bar which is very low.

Depending on how much power your ultimately after depends what exhaust induction you put on and yes is best to put these on before the remap.

A good exhaust, induction with a remap should see you into the 300 + bhp club.

300+ sounds good

i am hopeing the low 0.6 bar is down to the wrong fuel (premium) being used.
any suggestions on how to sort this,i read somewhere the ecu will sort itself after using the right ron fuel

same year car but UK spec should be 0.9 bar so i would have thought it should be around that figure.
Get a decent map on it as soon as you can if it's only just come into the country, in Japan its mapped for 100ron fuel.
If you are reading low on boost have the boost hoses looked at to ensure that all is well, you may have a split/loose hose causing loss of pressure.
It could even be that some one has artificially lowered (boost controller?)the boost pressure in order to alleviate the need for a remap (still not the case mind you as it will still need mapping, but some people have funny ideas if it saves them money)
As has been said, put a decent exhaust on it and filter and when mapped it will run well.
Reccomendations, lots of guys on here have produced excellent results with the 3" Revolution system, myself included but i used the RCMS downpipe, i'd look at an RCMS induction kit as well and contact Bob Rawle for mapping, he is more than exceptionally good at mapping cars.
