Default cold running problem

As above when i start my car the revs are all over the place at idle,when im driving for first mile or so if im off gas or brake the revs drop to 2-300 rpm and sometimes cuts out (not good going downhill!!!) when its warmed up the car is fine its just the start thats annoying me,ive replaced the maf and oil/filter/air filter service car is a 99 sti typeR anyone else got any advice?

yeah mine runs like a bag of poo when started from cold as well m8. ive just had a new maff put on not changed the plugs or coilpacks though. interested in any thoughts people might have on the subject.

Could be temp sensor or mabie icv giving problems, Are they over fueling on warm up ?

try cleaning your idle conrtrol valve with carb cleaner, this sits on top of the manifold and is held on with 4 screw headed bolts

Hi mine did exactly the same when cold .Solved it by changing my spark plug grade from 7s to 6s

its my last month of warranty but the garage are not keen on taking on anything like this for some reason its really starting to annoy me as its quite embarrasing when it sounds like its gonna stall and theres folk about,ill try plugs and leads although plugs were last changed 3K ago and its only recently developed this thing,also got a new coolant temp sensor but it looks a b****d of a job to get at
