i have a 93 impreza wrx and the check engine light keeps coming on after about 15mins and putting the car into safe mode saying check engine the cars boosting fine and theres no smoke, overheating or leaks its driving me crazy any one got any ideas, cheers people

 

Perform an ECU check to see what fault its showing.

Define "safe mode", what is it doing, or in what way is the car driving or limited to when in "safe" mode?

 

thanx m8 have reset the ecu and the light is off ur a star

 

the car is driving fine but after 15 mins it gets restricted to 4.5 revs and wont go over its just done it again and the ecu check came back with no faults

 

Does your speedo work Ok?

That's the problem.

It will keep dropping back on (CEL) and restricting you to 4500rpm until you get the speedo (probably the upper cable) fixed.
