got some roger clark headers and now need to wrap them but was just wondering since the pipes are so close together should they each be wrapped individually or can i do it in pairs? which is best cheers

If you can't separate them with a screwdriver and pass the wrap through, then pair them up. As long as the heat is staying within the system as a whole and not escaping, the wrap is doing its job. Individual pipe wrapping is the ideal, but it's just not always possible. Most important is not to over-wrap or leave any open spots.

If you have time on your hand then go for individully, but if not just wrap in pairs i have always done it this way seems to work just as well.

And you can quite easily loose a 50ft roll when wrapping them

Do them individually as far as possible.I have a couple of wooden wedges which can be tapped in with a hammer to open the gap a little to allow space for the wrap to go through the gap. Try to keep the wrap equal in distance along the same pair of runners so when you have to start wrapping as a pair , you do them equally.
DEI wrap has a stitching along the edge so you can accurately judge the overlap.
Avoid overwrapping especially close to the cylinder heads as this will result in over temperature and heat cycling which will increase the chance of brittleness and hence cracking.

Agree with Harvey, I've done some of my own wrap and also had a rally motorsport firm complete the rest during engine upgrades etc. Wrap all possible individually and then parts you cant do together, you'll not loose on retaining temps then.

I have just wrapped my RCM headers and did them individually easy to do but you will need 2 lots of wrap, no need to force pipes apart just cut a long piece and feed through pull very tight takes quite a while, take the wrap as far as you can to where they all come together and then wrap that seperate overlapping the four pipes easy

The need to wedge pipes apart is dependant on the design of the headers. While the RCMS may not need that approach because it is fairly wide spaced, some certainly do.
