Which upgrades do i need befor remap?
Hi,
i waiting to recieve my apexi ecu for my 95 sti v2 and i'm wondering what needs to be changed befor the remap to make it reliable and worth the remap.
at the moment the car is standard apart from a cat back exhaust and k&n panel filter.
i'm thinking things like fuel pump might need uprating.
what supporting mods are needed or advised?
any help greatful
thanks

If its pre Sep 95 then you don't need any cats - it can be tested via the non-cat test as imports are not an exact match on the DOT register.
Have a look at Andy F's site, most informative:

From reading the above and from memory of other posts, I would say that you need:

- decat (or sports cat d/pipe if its post Sep 95)
- 440 injectors
- later intercooler
- uprated fuel pump

No worries
Oh, and I have a Ninja Sports Cat d/pipe on mine - fantastic bit of kit for £299, passes MOT on its own with no hassles (gone through twice now).
Yes about the power. Depends on what you want - if you are happy with 300bhp, then looks like you don't need to change fuel pump/injectors/intercooler.
However, to make the most of your TD05 (I presume thats whats currently on there?), you'd be better off changing the lot and hopefully your clutch/gearbox etc. will take the heat!!
