Question Prodrive ECU Problems?

I bought a PPP ECU off here and had it fitted at Subaru (also have exhaust, intercooler pipes etc), great.... so much better performance however it started playing up. Basically when you come to a junction the revs will drop to almost stalling and sometimes cut out, they increased the tickover which helped but the revs were still uneven, it will normally only cut out within the first 10mins when everythings cold but the revs will dip when warm. Sometimes its perfect and once its ticking over its perfect, also perfect throught the rev range etc its just pulling up to junctions,ie dipping clutch.

As i didnt buy the ecu off them Subaru wanted to change this back first to test, so i have the old one back in and the problem has gone (as has performance)

The car is a March 05 plate (54 style interior) and the ECU is from an 05 Plate. Any ideas what this could be? a Duff ECU or something not compatible on my car?

cheers

Leon

Doesnt the 05 ppp have a sports cat and uprated fuel pump?
I think that could be your problem. If you need a sports cat or a cat removing then the ecu will not be mapped for a standard exhaust system and will be unable to react correctly.
You need all the parts of a ppp to make it work.
Also make sure its a wrx ppp and not an sti ppp
Hope that helps

I have the Prodrive Decat and the Back box but i thought the uprated Fuel Pump and Sports Cat was part of the STI PPP not the WRX? (ie why its 2k not 1.7k), the battery is OK as far as I know, never had any problems with it but will double check....

PS .... I have the PPP certificate and subaru checked it out and its genuine and from a 05 WRX

Go to subaru.co.uk accesorise and download the PDF of the PPP for your car, it tells you everything that should be fitted.

From what subaru said its the Sti that has the uprated fuel pump and the Sports CAT so I do have the full PPP pack ie...

ECU
Decat
Rear Silencer
Intercooler Hose

I will speak to subaru later today but i know they will just blame the ECU! so I was hoping for some ideas as to what it could be...
