Removing turbo heatshield on a newage?
I'm trying to fix a small problem and it involves removing the heatshield. I've got all the bolts off (with lots of cuts etc to prove it!) and it moves freely but there doesn't seem to be enough room to get it up past the brake servo and pipes. Does anyone know if theres an easy way to get it out? All help greatlly appreciated, sc.

I took off the intercooler (Forester but straight TMIC) and spun the heatshield round and took it up that way, that was about six months ago and the scars are almost gone now!
One consolation is that refitting was for once easier than removal!

update, bit easier when you have someone else to look as your taking it out! Twisted it round half a turn to passenger side and then came out without much hassle. Funny how its easier after a wee break, doh!

The clutch remote you have marked in the picture can be swung back to allow clearance.
The pot is held to the servo by two bolts (10 or 12mm off the top of head)under that metal bracket in the picture.
Undo and remove the higher one.
Undo the lower one and push the remote towards the bulkhead then do the bolt up again to keep it in place.
the heatshield then comes off without any trouble.
Doing this also makes getting at the downpipe bolts much, much easier.
