sport cat downpipe
Hi i've an sti3 stock with only cat back s/s 3" exhaust apexi gt spec, and doing 1.35bar max boost, 1.15 steady.
i'm going to replace my old cat downpipe with a sport one, would this raise the boost pressure, honestly.
cheers!

IMHO and experience;
I have an Sti V3 too.
The stock ecu will fix the boost, nothing else will unless you modify the engine ecu.
An aftermarket mod will allow a boost change, but the V3's can have fuel-cut issues with airflow rises, ie when you fit a 3'' decat system which flows much stronger than stock.
This can be fixed using various means, but the nicest is to have an Apexi FC fitted and mapped. Then you can control everything accuratly, inc a rise in boost to a small degree.(turbo will limit you)
The Sport D/P will help the flow over the stock pipe, especially if the cat is a '100 cell' type (stock ones are about 300 cell), ask before you buy.
I have just removed a sport cat off my car and back to a de-cat.
The sport cat will hold the peak power back, but not as bad as the stock one does!
Graham.
