Default rev's dying

Im having problems with turbo 2000 uk

im using a apexi power fc and 300zx maf. When i take my foot off throttle the rev's fall below 200 - 300 rpm before picking back up to the usual 800 - 900 rpm

Can anyone think of anything to check before looking at the maf?

thanks
dale
