Default Few problems - Rattling turbo , increase lag - BOV not dumping

Ok fitted a turbosmart BOV vee port type. I know most people on here dont like BOV's but could you plese help with the problems below.

Fitted it yesterday afternoon everything was working fine, boosting fine, idling (sp) fine and making the pshhh noise.

However last night the BOV decided not to work at all, piston was not moving and therefore no noise was created.

I took the vee port off and opened it up and checked everyone was ok. Everything seemed normal, spring and piston was lubed enough.

Put it back together but still nothing. Decided to put old BOV back on and now I am suffering from extreme lag. No boost till like 5500 revs. Very sluggish, however idle is fine, its not stuttering just has alot of lag.

Anyone have a clue what this might be ??

Thanks
Chris

Ok think I have a bigger problem than first expected.

Just went out to look at vaccum hose to see if any spilts etc but now there is an awful noise coming from the turbo area of the engine when revving.

A rattling sort of noise.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Chris

rattling could be the turbo heat shield, however if its not boosting properly maybe check the actuator isnt stuck open

Yeah I done a search on rattling and it came up with alot of results about heatshield rattling.

Ok I am new to turbo cars so not a clue how to check if actuator is stuck open ?

How do i check for this?

Thanks

Do a search for 'acuator' - seems that if that is rattling you will be able to feel it with your hand.

Yeah I done I search for that came up with some results.

Will test all the advice about actuator, headshields etc tomorrow.

Just hoping someone could relate to the three problems being one thing?

Or is it three different problems?
