Default Help needed to wire in Defi Controller

Is anyone able to tell me to which wires I connect to for the Defi Link Controller in an MY00 Classic please. I have taken the centre console fascia off and all wires are exposed but not sure where to connect to. Any help much appreciated.

Here is the current situation

And I need to wire this in.

Many thanks! Gav

Still not sure what wire connects to where? Have tried off of back of stereo and cigartte lighter but still can't get any power to the controller and gauges. Really need to be pointed to which set of wires to connect to.
I assume red to red, black to black, etc...

Thanks very much.

Thanks Proracer. Do these all need to be connected to the same run of wires ie. all on the stereo wiring?
Many thanks

I've wired the controller in like this but still no power up to gauges.
I did red (defi power lead) to yellow (strereo harness), orange (as no yellow) to red, black to black and white to blue but no power. It's driving me crazy!

Does anyone know if this is right?
Thanks. Gav

OK, so I've had another look at this today. I'm reliably inform from more than one source that red goes to blue/red, orange goes to yellow/green, white to illumination (I did as the P1 site and used purple at the back of the bright switch) and black to black but still no power to the controller / gauges.

I assume you can connect the black to any other black cable (I used the one to the stereo), I also noticed black with white dashes where I was connecting red and orange - should I be connecting to this instead?

I've used scoth lite connectors. According to the Defi instructions they are meant to go a certain way round for each wire, either in vehicle direction or to ignition direction - does this acually matter?

I'm so fed up with this as everything else is in place - all the sensores are in, the 3 gauges are mounted in the pod, and the controller is in the location of the cup holder.

Wonder if anyone who has wired in one of these before has any suggestions as to where I'm going wrong.

Many thanks. Gav

if you look at the guide that came with the controller, it tells you what you need for each cable. They will be:

ground/neutral/earth (however it is termed)
switched live (this is one that becomes live when you turn the egnition on)
lighted live or whatever they call it. this becomes live when the lights are on
permenant live

all the lives are + and the first one is -

if you look at the wires that go into the back of the stereo you will see what wires are used for what, as there should be a diagram on the back which tells you.

If there isn't, then you can work it out. Just get a multimeter or solder a couple of wires onto a 12v bulb and try touching them on likely looking wires with the ignition on/off and lights on/off. you'll fiind them. When you do, just connect them in parallel.

hope this helps..

Have you checked your fuses recently?

I thought I had something wrong but the permanent live for the stereo had blown the fuse when i connected the DEFI unit up to it.
