I have a MY99/00 classic Impreza, the maf sensor has just failed for the 4th time in a year (fault code 23?) can anyone shed some light on why this is happening, 7000 miles for 4 replacement maf sensors is a bit strong.

Can the older style maf be fitted from an earler car if the wiring is changed as they seem to be more reliable??
