It means your casserole is ready!

Have you refitted the intercooler and turbo pipe?

It looks to me like a Cat'.....so maybe there's summat up with the Lambda/Cat area?

What year is the car?

94 wrx wagon mate. Reallly confused, it turns over etc, just wont start. It was giving off some weird evaporation type smoke out of the exhaust yesterday?

Surely the car should start without the intercooler?

well to be honest, have been working on the car for some time now. So I at my house, I've just been reversing the car in and out of the garage really. Not driving! The uprated tmic was and is still proving to be hard to fit.

if it helps, i did remove the heat shield and not put it back?

check the earth strap to the right of the throttle body, I forgot to screw mine back on when I was messing around with mine! you would have unscrewed it when removing the TMIC

exactly the same symptons (less the casserole lamp!)

right update. Done a sensor code check! nothing!

I have checked the strap? its just a thick wire which followed from the negative terminal, but mine is bolted to the tranny? So I didnt need to remove it?

All I can say, something has failed. Because when I was moving the car back and forth in and out of the garage, my friend noticed loads of smoke from the exhaust! (whilst the intercooler was off)

Some one please HELP!

That damn cat light is on for some reason??

Someone confrim why this light is on?

nah thats the battery earth, check for a wire that bolts on below inlet manifold, its covered in shiney heatshrink stuff, ill have a hunt for a piccie to help you, might not be the correct name for it but thats what we decided it should be christened

if you drive the car without the IC on it there will be a fair bit of smoke

did you remove the TMIC from the brackets or take the brackets out too? if you took the brackets off too when you removed the IC there is one bolt on the left and two on the right, under one of the right bolts there is a wire fastened underneath one of them

okay, is all your intercooler reconnected and all pipework in place? if not the car wll overfuel without it and would struggle to start.

when you turn the engine over is it catching as though it is going to start or just turning?

Are the sparks firing ? take out the drivers side plug and have a look to see if it is sparking when you turn the engine over

The car won't start without an intercooler, well it might if you have the maf joined to the throttle body, otherwise ..it wont.

Re-connect the intercooler and maf and it will start.

If it doesn't, do a CEL test by joining the wires under the dash and see what error codes you have

Do a search for CEL and you will find out what the codes mean and exactly which wires to connect.
