Default apexi avcr, anyone use the scramble boost feature?

from what i can tell, you wire in a switch, and when mapped, you have have it over/under boost for a set time.

anyone use this feature?

on the boost settings, you have A/B/OFF, so could i have a (A) low boost with the scramble setting on, and the (B) high boost setting with out it?

thanks
ian

never the seen the need for it to be honest as you have the 2 settings anyway. I only see it being useful as a gimmick

i just thought, say you are in the low boost setting, and then wanted to put your foot down for a quick blast, to press the switch instead of changing the avcr to the different boost setting would be easyer

yes know what your saying, but having it on high boost setting and just controlling your right foot is easier!

Old thread revival! Anymore views on this? I'm currently relocating my avcr for a more factory look and wondering weather it's worth it. Car will be remapped again soon so can be set up again then.
Cheers

the problem with it is.. normally you map a car to the highest sensible boost on one of the settings, a lower boost setting and then you have the off setting..

therefore if you hit the scramble on the high boost setting it will overboost and may cause damage, may actually be slower or not produce anymore boost... depending on the setup its on..

On the other two settings it would be fine and possible set up right work very well, but from memory I dont think you can only specify it working on a particular setting.

I cannot think of any real world application for this function on the Avc-R other than perhaps an overtake boost on a race/track setup or to reduce boost during a launch on a 1/4 drag for traction reasons. It can be set to either increase or decrease boost duty and target boost for a set period of time for both settings a and b but not the off setting. As has been correctly highlighted above any scramble settings that have been set to spike beyond your current boost setup and mapping conditions could result in serious engine damage.

Cheers Iain
