the leak seems to be coming from the oil pump region

now ive took the oil pump off and while doing so i noticed the bottom 3 bolts were covered in oil, not sure if this is right as the oil could come out the end if they werent nipped up tightly enough.
in the pics you can see that there is a part missing
under inspection its not holding anything but the cross pipe from the oil filter and its not opened up any holes

what im thinking is if the engine that i got which is in my car now, if it had a knock to cause that lug to break off that the cross pipe bolts to...
is it possible that it may of disturbed the situ of the oil pump and its sealant type gasket thats there and cause it to leak?
again in the pics you can see the crank seal must be fine as its bone dry behind the covers
all oil dampness seems to come from the bottom of the oil pump somewhere, or possibly behind as we saw when it was up on the ramps and we blasted it with cleaner then waited 5 mins to see if it dripped again.

p.s. what kind of sealant should i use to get this oil pump back on and sealed up again ?
