Default Newage powersteering pump onto a classic

I have a newage powersteering pump with all the pipes & fluid reservoir bottle. I would like to fit this to my classic wagon using its orignal steering rack.
I am just concern about the differences in the pipe bends near the fitment end. (were they bolt to the steering rack)

Having just compared the classis pipes against the newage pipes you can see a difference between the bend lines near to were they fit the steering rack.
Atm I just tried fitting the new pipes to a spare steering rack Ive got.
The newage pipe union bolts fits into the classic steering rack fine.

Its just diffcult to tell with the parts not being fitted on the car if it would work.

So for those who have fitted a newage pump to a classic how did you go about it?

Did you fit new pipes with modified ends or just use the original newage pipes without any hassle?

Thanks Ticky.

ticky is your pump knackered if not just swap tops over assuming you got the right one as there seems to be three different newage pumps

IF its the push on pulley one (early bugeye) and your not wanting to do the swap tha I may be interesteed in taking only the pump with the pulley part.

I dont think mine is knackered but it does not sound 100% perfect. tbh I have not really had a close inspection.

Here is a picture I nicked from the project threads of ps pump which looks the same as the newage one I have.
The only difference I can see in that one, is the pipe that fits into the side of the pump has a different end nut attachment.
The pipe that I have has a banjo union bolt type fitment. Similar to what you get brake pipe ends.

So is this correct in what you saying remove the reservoir tank on my old ps & fit the top remote pipe attachment that's on the newage.

After further investigation I found that the power steering pipes go through a rectangular cut out in the front subframe & then connects to the steering rack. So I suppose the bends will have to be correct for it to work?

I am not certain as to what my plans are for the time being.
But I will try to make it work depends if my pump is knackered.

ticky I removed the reservoir and replaced with new age top located reservoir where carbon canister used to sit. If you got the wrong adaptor a new one is £25 from main dealer.

you can just see the adaptor and hose from steering pump in bottom left of picture. directly below where throttle cable passes over power steering pump.

Thanks for the pictures I can see what you mean.

I had a look at the newage pump today & its actually different to the picture I initially posted.

The top adaptor looks the same but there is an additional banjo union fitment on the top left hand side. Were as the slightly older model pumps have the fitment on the side.

The interesting part is the bracket which holds the ps pipes on the cylinder head in your picture. I will be using sti4 heads on my new build so I will check if the head can support that bracket? I can see yours are phase 2 heads.

ticky as i said there seems to be about three versions of pump. easiest route is to buy the adaptor. £25 inc vat. pt no 34431fe010. Then use new age plastic bottle and hoses to adaptor and cooling pipe.
