Default Front mount help - metal cutting required?

Ok, so I've been battling with a FMIC today for my UK WRX (03)

I've got the same kit as Andy has in this thread here:
https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...user-fmic.html

Now, I've stripped my bumper etc off and I'm left with this:

My question is, in Andy's picture it looks like the bumper beam is cut off... Is this only an illusion, or do I really need to cut the bumper beam off in order to fit this FMIC? If it is, there's no way I'm doing it I don't mind cutting the actual plastic bumper, but cutting bits of metal off seems a bit extreme.

If cutting is required, are there any fmic kits that don't require it? Or should I just stay with a standard STI top mount?

I'll be running an andy forrest 20g with supporting mods, but probably wont be doing lots of track time (mainly a and b road stuff for short bursts, not much into driving at high speed (100+) for extended periods of time

Ive Acshally Sold this unit now and purchsed one from Harvey Smith.

If you can take pictures of all the pipes ill explaine were it isnt right.

That intercooler if the same as the one i had invloved cutting bits of the cut off!!! that i may now ad are re welded with the new intercooler.

if you look at the 1st pix below you can see were it links to the turbo wasnt long enough so i had to make a pipe that fitted nicely

i had to cut and join this pipe at the side too.....

then i also had to cut the pipe with the Dump valve on it. when it droped down nexto to the radiator

and then i had to adjust other pipe work, get flange welded on for the DV

kept getting pipes popping off and goso sick so i purchased this one and as ull see th epiping is so much neater

daone: I think it's a "generic" intercooler with different pipe work to fit the WRX

Anyway, I think I've decided on getting an STI TMIC instead as that means I can retain the standard dump valve as well

Thats a big help to me with the pics guys, I don't suppose you have a picture of the part you cut for the FMIC to be fiitted and a pic from above looking that the top of the FMIC.
Its so I can get it round my head where it all goes.

Thanks
S!

I've just had a Hybrid FMIC put on and API's David suggested I do it without a D/V to keep the system pressurised which will aid throttle response. He said the compressor stall will not damage the turbo. I hope he's right.
