Engine smoke

Engine smoke
Just fitted a reconditioned engine and after 300 mile of very gentle no boost running in she has started blowing blue smoke from the exhaust. Im just a little worried that its the engine but hoping that its just the deposits of old oil in the exhause etc from the last engine that went. I was recomended to disconnect to actuator and run her in for 1000 mile around 3000 rpm. I will be phoning API tomorrow for advice from them but if anyone can put me mind at ease tonight i would be very greatful as this is the second engine and they are very expensive as you all know lol
Thanks in advance

That's not one of our engines, surely ??.
Smoke from the exhaust after a comprehensive previous blow up is not unusual. And can take some time to burn off.
If it is one of our engines then please call, but l don't think that it is.

Hi David, the engine was from yourselves but i have spoken to someone today and with it not actually using any oil it will probably be deposits left in the CAT that will need burning off. Just me being a little paranoid with this being the second engine i have purchased from yourselves and i have been 110% happy with sales and after sales service. Would recommend to anyone.

That'll be it then. Give it 3 weeks or so, if it's really bad, before you start to worry and if ANY noise develops, call immediately. You have a warranty, lets hope you don't actually need to test it.
