P0031 Dignostic code help !
Hi all....
Yesterday I thought I would try out some of that Water wetter stuff in the cooling system, everything was fine yesterday...
Today I started the car as normal and engine managment light came on... done a check of the code on my psi3 unit and it says P0031 code...
HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (bank 1 sensor 1)
I have drained all the water wetter stuff out of the cooling system and refilled with coolant and water, done an ecu reset and after starting the car each time the code comes back....
Anyone tell me how to fix this problem or is it a trip to a Subaru dealer?
Heater and Air conditioning all working fine btw
car is a 2002 type UK Impreza Sti
cheers
Andy

Its nothing to do wth the cabin heater, its the lambda sensor. On the impreza its the heated type....it has a heating element in it to help it work quicker after engine start, so the fault code is "O2 (oxygen) sensor heater".
On bug eyes there is an inherent ...er...bug... in the software which throws this code under certain circumstances. I used to get it when hitting high revs after a petrol fill up. the code should reset after you start and stop the engine 4 times in a row. If it still shows , then you really do have a fault.new sensor required, or there is a fault i the wiring

Been in touch with a Subaru dealer today to see how much a new sensor is....
I was expecting about £70
To my amazement the service guy says oh I dont keep them in stock - they are £291.70 + Vat
So needless to say I haven't done anything about it yet until I can get it in to a garage...
Anyone know a place that sells them any cheaper?
cheers

Had this exact fault on my bugeye. Was told you are ok to run the car until you can sort it. Went to JAP PERFORMANCE PARTS and it cost £75 just make sure it is the correct one, the guys down there are nice and helpful.
