Help!!! Overheating And Other Problems???
help im baffled. tonight my v4 type r has decided that it wants to overheat. the temp gauge runs fine in the middle of the scale most of the time but after a good thrash it decided to rocket up when on idle. also the blowers went cold but once you set off again the blowers go hot again and the temp comes back to normal. the radiator fans are working ive checked but they seem to stay on all the time? can anyone shed any light on this set of problems it would be most appreciated.
thanks martyn

Coolant level is low, possibly (probably) due to headgasket failure. When cold, check the coolant level at the header tank on the inlet manifold.

checked coolant level today and it was a little low so i filled it back up. the temp gauge has been fine today but under the bonnet in the expansion tank i can nhear bubbling so i reckon the headgasket has gone or is going? apart from that everything else is fine no mayo in the oil, no white smoke and no loss or power or poor running. any other advances on the problem?

i had a simalar problem recently.was losing coolant but could never find where from.special scoobys found that the outlet coolant pipe from the turbo(may have been inlet can't remember which) was cracked.it was evaporating straight away due the heat from the turbo so maybe worth looking for.
best bet is to get the system pressure tested as it could save alot of time trying to trace the leak
