Question

...after covering 50K miles in the last 18months (since new) the old girl has started to lack a little in the woooaah accelleration stakes.
Think it could be a couple of things and would like anyone elses 2 peneth.
Firstly, could it be the ITG panel filter. This has covered 40K mls and could do with changing? The car feels like it's not getting enough air.
Clutch is on the way out and energy could be lost through this slipping, not that this is immediately noticeable!
It has a Scoobysport back box and centre and could be loosing back pressure?
1st and second seem ok but 3rd is really lacking umph, like the boost is holding back!!

Advice gentlemen (& ladies) please.

Fuel filter been changed recently?

Lambda sensor reading okay? These can give odd readings when they start to go, not necessarily fail.

What about plugs?

The car was serviced 3 weeks ago so I'd hope that the plugs and petrol filter were done then. Also had new MAFF unit installed. Could this have something to do with it I wonder?

I ran the car for a weekend without the sensor which meant it was running very rich (under the garages say so). Incedently the car went like stink during this time!!
Anyway trying a Prodrive ramair filter on Thursday so hopefully this will cure the problem.
