Default Volt Gauge Flickering

Can anybody help, I have noticed that on idle my volt gauge flickers and when the lights are on (at night) all the internal dash lights also flicker along with the headlights slightly ?

Anyone got any clues why this would be happening ?

Make sure your batt leads are clean and secure, check the leads on the alternator, maybe worth while having the alternator current draw (amp) pull tested and voltage output is stable.
