Default 2002 sti engine into 2002 wrx

Is it possible for me to put an sti engine into my wrx of the same year or will there be other complications i.e. ecu, gearbox, etc....

Please explain if/why this cannot be done. And if not possible i assume that changin my wrx engine for another one shouldnt have any complications associated to it at all???

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I think that you might need to get the ECU & wiring loom also and go from their. Hope this is of help to you.

yes these will bolt on without any problems. you should use the sti engine n interior harness as the guage cluster has a different location guage location.

SO would it be easier to just change for a wrx engine as per my original plans, and tune upto 300bhp ish mark, again as planned??

I have changed a wiring harness in a mk3 golf before and it was a right pain in the a*se to do, and nothing went back together properly afterwards, it left some really annoying rattles too.

Thanks for above guys.
