Question Boost Gauge Electrical Feed, Which is best

I have used the search function..drove me nuts though.

What is the best circuit to connect to for electrical feed (backlight) to my Apexi mechanical boost gauge?

Car is a GC8 MY00

Any links to pictures would be really appreciated too

I used the ignition live feed from the ignition barrell. I cant remember what colour it is as i used a multimeter to do it and it was ages ago.

It is the easiest wire to patch into though.

is the cig lighter backlight easy to get to, or does it involve near ripping the entire car apart to get to the wires?

If you just remove the stereo you should be able to get to the wires easily enough.

Does cig lighter connection also apply to fitting on bugeye.
Do you have to remove centre console on a newage to do it or is there an easier way to get to the wires.

It would deffo work the same on a Bug. I have never taken notice of where the cig lighter is in a Bug but I would guess that you could get to it easily by removing the stereo..

Its at the very bottom of the centre console, where the gearstick console bit meets the dash centre bit, so the heater controls are between it and the stereo. I dont suppose the lighter socket pops out does it - I'm trying to minimise the amount of dash dismantling I need to do
