Default TSL Group N backbox question

I have just had a TSL Group N backbox fitted and its sounds great but the tailpipe is slightly angled downwards instead of being dead horizontal.

I noticed when I received it that the tailpipe in relation to the actual silencer box was slightly angled downwards. I contacted Graham at TSL and he reckons if I took it to TSL they would be able to "tweek" the fittings and get it straight but I've already paid Subaru to fit the box and TSL is about a 270 mile round trip for me. I was wondering if the tailpipe should be dead horizontal with the silencer box and if mine is just inaccurately welded?

I think all exhaust tailpipes only look good on the car if dead straight or if anything angled up slightly. I thing angled down even if only slightly looks naff.

Has anyone else experienced this with a TSL group N or am i being too fussy?

think someone else had the same problem a while ago ! i had one on my car and it very slightly went downwards but didnt bother me . you could always try bending the rear exhaust hangers on the car downwards to help bring the tailpipe end upwards .

Yeah I could do but I just wondered if all the tailpipes were slightly angled down in relation to the silencer on TSL group N's or has mine been made wrongly?

Maybe they all angle down then but I can't see why they cant weld the tailpipe dead straight. I'm not planning to change the centre or downpipe so I guess i'll have to get used to it but it does annoy me....

Fitted mine at the same time as a Magnex decat centre and it sits completely horizontally. As you can see in the View my Scooby picture!

I used to have one, with the centre pipe too, nice and horizontal. This was at least 3 years ago, mind

Default TSL

Just fitted TSL centre and group N back box and its horizontal. Only thing I would comment on was, it sticks out the rear like some Iraqi super cannon. Could be 15 - 25 mm shorter i.e. flush with bumper.

I'd post a photo, but I don't see how to do it on this forum. Is there a way?

I agree it could do with being a bit shorter!! A photo would be good but I'm not sure how you do it but I know it can be done???

It seems that lots of people who have the centre section have their backbox sitting horizontal but I know the tailpipe is definitely not welded straight & horizontal to the silencer. I'm thinking if it was welded on straight it would sit horizontal but I cant tell if mine is made faulty or if they are all like that. I cant see why they wouldn't be weld it on straight.

Thanks for the replies and if anyone is able to confirm if their tailpipe is welded to the silencer angled downwards slightly then I'll know if it is meant to be and I guess I'll put up with it. If it is not then i could try to get TSL to replace it.
