I checked this out when I had my 03STI. If you look at the prodrive figures the differences are tiny for acceleration (tenths don't matter in the real world) PPP, according to prodrive, gives improved driveability. I quite liked the way you had to thrash the standard setup The only time I think you'll really notice the difference is if you get caught in the wrong gear.

When you say "flashed" do you mean the PPP setting? Don't for get the PPP is a package ECU, Exhaust and fuel pump. Unless you get the whole package I think just a "flash" of ECU setting will be pretty useless

So you've not had it officially PPP'd then ? How do you know that the ecu map is a PPP map, and why didn't you just have an openECU or EcuTek remap - at least then the mapper has a custom map for your car.

as far as i am aware the PPP ECUs are standard not mapped for each car

simply download the rom from the PPP sti and put it on my car

openECU in other words

Because they more then often fall short on the figures quoted.

It's more driveability than anything else. If you had a flier to start with, say 275, then it could only be about 10-15bhp increase.

I`m afraid you only get what you pay for. Pay for a proper job and get proper results , DIY on the cheap and get cheap results. If you had done a proper job you would have had to recode your keyfobs aswell to match up the transponder.

So you made a clone of the sti ppp ecu map from another ecu, and applied this to your sti ecu?
I thought ppp maps where copy protected.

yeah i am going for a tek 3 map in a couple of weeks
i just wanted to see whats the big fuss is about with ppp vs stock

i didnt pay for anything its all for free!already had the cable and free software so why not test out stuff??

i drove the car more today and def nicer to drive a lot smoother!
boost doesnt kick in all in one huge kick its gradual
its nice i am happy with it

all i am saying is it didnt feel like what they claim extra 35 bhp and all that
but recomend it to any1 who doesnt want to spend 600pounds on an ecutek
sure ecutek is better and u will get more
but for ppl wanting just a smoother drive with a bit more power
def go 4 it
