Have you jacked the car and spun the wheel and checked for any play, vertical and horizontal?

i was thinking of it being one of two things either the cv joint or the wheel bearing .but you only hear the noise when you turn the wheel

This could turn into jibberish!!

Doesn't sound like it gonna be a bearing or CV if its just a click. Like I said, if you jack it and spin the wheel in question it'll be quite easy to find. Its more than likely gonna be something around the braking system, a loose spring, or shim. It if is remove the pads and refit correctly with copper grease. Or it may be as simple as debris stuck somewhere.
