Default Installing Gearbox

I am looking to install a gearbox over the next week... should be basically striaght swap my car is MY00 Classic and the box i might be getting hold off is a MY99 classic.. Some bloke over the weekend sed u have to lazer the instal the diffs and gearbox on to the nearest minimeter...

My Mate a Machnic and got the 4 poster ramps etc and he sed he put it on for me.... just abit worried what i was told..

Anyone else just install there diffs and gearbox without using a lazer??

That is nonsense!

The trans swop is straightforward, the hardest part will be getting the box off the back of the engine as they corrode onto the location dowls.

If you have the ramp, then you are very lucky indeed.

You must have the same diff ratios so beware.

Check the clutch too!
