Sorry for my lack of knowledge here but when looking into your engine bay does anyone know what the inlet bit is left of the intercooler on a wrx import ?

best way to load a piccie is to use Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket (it's free).
Put the picture onto your pc, then upload to photobucket, then you get a choice of how you want it to appear (i always pick the 3rd option which is IMG code) then just copy and paste it into this thread.

 

I think it is a cooler for the turbo. Im sure ive seen it before. It has a hole in the top and is like an upside down funnel.
Idea being to channel air from the scoop to the turbo to aid cooling. Garbage if you ask me tho.

Managed to do it thanks myblackwrx - its the square bit to the left of the intercooler, does make sense what andys p1 said ?

yep it's what andy said if you look at the bonnet scoop it has a little partion to direct air through the 'chimney' on to the turbo whether it makes any difference i have no idea.
