V5 STi Valve Clearance?
Hi,
New here. I've got a set of v5 sti heads for a friend's car I'm helping him with and I wanted to make sure the valves were in spec.
First, do these heads have the shim under buckets, or are they shimless buckets? I havnt taken them apart yet, so I dont know.
But my main question is about the valve clearance.
I measured them and got .006" on the intakes and .008" on the exhaust.
The only specs I can find on subaru heads call for .007-.009" on the intake and .009-.011" on the exhaust. But I dont know if that applies to these heads as well. I'm a VW guy.
Thanks for any help you guys can offer.
Heres a picture of a friend's "oops" for fun
